I grew up in a house of teachers and computer geeks in Grand Rapids, Michigan. After college I moved to San Jose, and since 2010, I've been teaching sixth through eighth grade language arts and seventh grade pre-Algebra. I also serve as a technology mentor on our campus.
In 2013, I began consulting in education technology in addition to teaching. This gives me the privilege of working with other schools to effectively integrate technology into classrooms. In each training, I focus not only on the specifics of how to use a tool, but I also inspire and equip teachers to use those tools to amplify student voices as they learn.
I'm a Google Certified Innovator and Google Certified Trainer, the 2014 CUE Outstanding Emerging Teacher, a MERIT fellow, and a continual conference presenter. I hold single-subject California teaching credentials in English, math, and social sciences.
