Video of the Week: "Safety for Everyone - Honda"

This video came on during college football on Saturday, and it made me wince just as much as the performance of my beloved Wolverines. Take a look:

Here’s what I’m thinking:

  • In the beginning of the ad, what did you think they were advertising?

  • How do you feel about Honda using this level of pathos to sell their product? Is it clever? Or a low-blow?

  • Honda’s tagline for this campaign is “Safety for everyone.” Do you think this ad communicates that campaign? Why or why not?

  • What do you think about cars having these capabilities (like braking before you do, staying in your lane, autonomous driving)? Do you think they will be good for our society?
