The Community, Continuing & Corporate Education (CCCE) Department is dedicated to creating training and services for residents, families, and businesses in the San Mateo County Community College District. As part of this commitment, they partnered with us to develop a Writing Effective Email On-Demand Online Course.
In this course, we laid out strategies, templates, & examples for 3 clear steps to better email:

During this project, we partnered closely with Rae Ann to bring her proven in-person classroom strategies to a series of asynchronous eLearning modules.
We began by reviewing Rae Ann’s in-person curriculum to learn more about her methodologies and the content she wished to cover. Throughout this process, we provided suggestions for asynchronous eLearning activities that would allow online learners to practice the content and receive real-time feedback.
This led us to create a course framework in Articulate Rise, which included placeholders for the instructional videos and interactive activities. We chunked the content into manageable sections for online learning.

Developing Curriculum
It was then time to start developing the materials! Rae Ann recorded videos for each section while we edited the videos and created the activities for the learners to apply the content. These activities are included in a 23-page workbook we developed for learners to practice and reinforce key points.
Throughout the development process we sought feedback from Rae Ann to ensure the course was in line with her vision.
It was a great pleasure to work with Rae Ann and CCCE to develop this course. I appreciate Rae Ann’s commitment to concise writing and effective communication, and I can’t wait to hear more from those taking the course!
